This is the Santori palm tree as of today in the Dougherty Garden. Over the past few months, the entire canopy of the Santori palm tree browned out and died. I was going to remove it completely and throw it out but had second thoughts when I felt the trunk and it was strong. I aid that I would leave it alone and see what happens.
This was an earlier picture of the Santori palm tree when I first planted it in the front of the Dougherty Garden. It seemed to be doing good at the time but it was always infested with these white scales. I didn't use any chemicals but would hose off these pests every time that I would find them on the new palm leaves.
I did a quick search on Google for the Santori palm tree but did not get any results. I'll have to check other resources to see if I can find out more information on the Santori palm tree and why it went south on me.
