Flowers of the Dougherty Garden - Portulaca #526 - November 4, 2019
Updated: Nov 7, 2019
This is the Portulaca flowers in the Dougherty Garden. I have never openly purchased any Portulaca flowers. I have always found them growing in the Dougherty Garden, all over the place. Some as small little weeds and some within the grass as I was mowing the lawn.
Many years ago, when I was living up in New York, Marie's Uncle Johnny was a bit of a gardener too and every once in a while would drop off some Portulaca flowers for my garden.
This is a Portulaca plant that I pulled from the grass when I was mowing. It's wilting a bit because I left it in the sun on a little puddle of water. It wilted a bit but was refreshed after being put in the freshly potted soil.
Actually, this is a version of the Portulaca plant that I did not plant in this patio pot. I have two pots that I'll plant a palm tree in and use them as a Patio Plant before they get too large for use as a Patio Plant. In this particular plant, I let the Portulaca plant stay for a while just to see how it would grow, and, as you can see, it loves full sun.
