These are some of the notes that I have been taking while listening to TV on the Coronavirus. Albeit, mostly from CCN, but these comments are from the assortment of doctors and healthcare guest since its inception not the staff.
Latest on Tests: 1. Antingen Test for Virus - Checks for protein marker. 2. Antibody Test - there are so many and validity is a problem. 3. PCR Saliva/Nose Test - There are numerous supply problems.
Latest on Treatments: REMDESIVIR blocks the virus and some people recover in a shorter time period but not a cure for the virus.
Latest on Side Effects: Redness appears on tip of toes and heel of foot.
Temperature: Some say 8 days you will get temperature. Dr. Gupta says in 9 days.
Bilateral Pneumonia: Xrays show fuzzy white circles on the lungs, bilateral, upper and lower lungs. One doctor said it was close to looking like TB.
Transported via Aeresol or Droplets: Unknown at the moment. Breathe in or touch eyes. No sure at the moment of how long the Coronavirus may stay in the air.
Mask: Good for medical staff protection.
Socal Distancing: Recommended way to prevent exposure to Coronavius. This will hold down the exposure percentage from increasing.
Treatment: Some countries are using blood plasma from patients who have survived the Coronavirus and making a plasma for newly exposed patients. Effectiveness at the monet is not know. Plasma is being tested in France and South Korea.
Research: MRA and DNA Approach. Safety and Efficacy Protocol. 1, therapeudic or 2 Vaccine. Largets concern for safety is alarge placebo control (per Dr. Paul Offet - Infectious Diseases. RNA test takes three hours to run.,
Use of Antibiotics: Possibility to use antibiotics on lung infection that was started by the Coronavirus. Unknown reaction at the moment.
Blood Cells: White Blood Cells has more activity that something is going wrong... most likely a virus.
Blood Type: Not confirmed as yet - O positive are more resistant than A blood type.
Drugs Possibilities: 1. Experimental drug being used for compassionate care basis. 2. Chloroquine, an old malaria drug. 3. Serialogical drug (need more info).
Virus Characteristics: 1. Life of Virus - Virus still alive on surface of cabins 17 days after cruise guests were taken off ship and relocated. 2. Color of Eyes - Eye colors were red/red shadows - Nurses at the Washington Nursing Home where residents die. 3. Cough - persistant cough at the Nursing home in the State of Washington.
Use of Ventilators: Non Coronavirus patients is 3-4 days. Coronavirus patients use ventilators for 11-21 days.
Tests: if you test positive then you are immune. High antibody count means you are immune.
