Scientific Name: Hyophorbe lagenicaulis
Common Name: Bottle Palm Tree Seeds #59 S
Type: Palm Tree Seeds
This is one of the latest Palm Trees that have been received from Ruth's Tropical Garden. We have received two Bottle Palm Trees over the years from Ruth and both are planted in the ground. I have no idea of what I am doing for these palm tree but most of the palm trees in the Dougherty Garden are larger than any other palm trees of the same name. It must the care that I extend to these plants.
These seeds are from the first bract which I have removed the other day in order to pick off these first seeds. The shape and size of the palm seed is similiar to the Reclinata Palm Tree Seeds. Not sure of the color the seeds will turn when they mature. I was a little over anxious in removing this bract of seeds in the hopes that this will expedite the seeds on the following bracts.
Anyway, these seeds are planted in this pot and we'll see if any of them germinate over the next few weeks or months. The Seed Bracts themselves, were on this palm tree for over a year. Presently, there are six to seven more bracts on the Bottle Palm Tree at the moment.
