Scientific Name: Mimosa (Common Name) #108
Common Name: Giant Sensitive Tree
Type of Plant: Decideous Small Shrub
This is what the Mimosa Tree looks like when you don't touch the leaf or water the plant before you take a video. There are numerous versions of the Mimosa Tree and the one that I have and the one that resulted in my search had a different pink flower.
The Mimosa plants are referred to as invasive because the plant will throw out seeds from the seed pod and you'll find these little seedlings growing within a close distance of the mother plant.
There are numerous species of the Mimosa Tree. Each one has its own characteristics and some are known to grow to fifty feet in height. I'm not into tall trees, so this will have a short life in the Dougherty Garden if it gets too aggressive and invasive.
