The RKO was the top of movies on 86th Street. There was nothing else like it on 86th Street for its great location. When you came out of the RKO, you could walk across the street to get a slice of pizza at Hav-A-Pizza. if you walked across Lexington Avenue you could stop in the Nedick's store just off the corner, or, go further down the street to get some great French Fries at the Linden Bar next to Lowe's. Also, if you had some change, thre was also the Horn & Hardart. Enjoy,
