Back in the day, a hair style was what it was all about. if you were on the street back in the day, this hair style was very popular with teenagers. You had the guys that were members of gangs and guys that just wanted to be cool This was the style that you wore your hair back in the day.
Another item that was popular were garrison boots and big belts with buckles. I remember some of the teens taking the belt buckle, the brass section, and filing it down on the side walk. When they would go on a so called gang fight, they would wind the belt around their hand with the sharpened belt buckle on the end so that they could hit someone with the belt buckle. I never saw it happen but did see how they held the belt.
