Yorkville Memories - 23rd Precinct

When you're hanging out on the streets or the corners of Yorkville back in the day, especially from 86th Street north, you were always looking for that green, black and white police car riding through the neighborhood. it was a way of life when you walked the streets bnack in those days becausse gangs were more prevalent. The ones thay kept the streets quiet in the neighborhood, because the mayor of New York City lived down the street in Carl Schurz Park. For those living from 86th Street to I think 96th Street, the 23rd Precinct was the guardian of the streets.
