Yorkville Faces #015 - A Moment at P&C's Bar - November 29, 2018

Here is one of Denny Ferado's picture from inside the Power & Costello Bar on the NE corner of 87th Street and York Avenue. The person on the left side is Billy Kelly who went on the serve in the Vietnam and became a distinguished hero. The two people in the center of the picture are my brother, Paddy Dougherty, on the left and Billy Carl on the right.

P & C's, as it was commonly referred to, was a right of passage. As a teenager, one would hang outside Kronk's Luncheonette across the street becuase you were below the drinking age in New York City which was 18 years old. When yo hit 18 years old, you graduated from Kronk's to P&C's. You made big time and got to hang out with the big guys...Denny was one of the big guys. Enjoy,

Marty Dougherty
