Sausage And Peppers R27
It was just the day before that Marie sprung her Meatload on us and then today served her famous Sausage and Peppers that she baked the other night. Marie fries up her sSausage a few days before in the frying pan and partially fries the sausage. She normally uses the sweet sausage. The sausage is partially cooked and removed and she hands them to me for cutting into small pieces, as you can see in the above picture.
Normally, she'll cook the whole meal at one time but was planning on arranging for making the meals for later in the week. In a day or so, Marie took the Sausage and put it into the frying pan and added her jar of fried peppers. She normally uses a special brand of fried peppers from the store but when they are not available will use fresh peppers. A mix od green, red and yellow which are wsliced up into thin slices and fried with the sausage.
The final step is to put them in a casserole dish like above and cover them with tin foil and baked in the oven. Before they are finished, she'll remove the tin foil and put on the broiler to give a browning effect to the Sausage and Peppers. Normally, we serve italian bread, which can br toasted, so I can make small sandwiches of Sausage and Peppers
