The Pygmy Date Palm Tree has been in the Dougherty Garden since the beginning. I had two Pgymy Date Palm Trees in the ground for many years. The area that I had them planted in was eventually covered in shade by a huge Coconut Palm Tree. The Pygmy Date Palm Tree died from lack of sun and the Coconut Palm Tree was taken out in the latest hurricane a few years ago.
